The Alburgh Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. is its own organisation rather than a town department, so it can't use municipal financing. Its chief is also the town fire warden.
The department asks the Selectboard to take out municipal financing for a new pumper costing $603,000, to be repaid from the department's capital equipment fund. The board tables the request.
The annual Alburgh fire training school, held at the station and Alburgh School, asks the town for a permanent training facility made from a 40-foot shipping container.

Vermont requires a Permit to Kindle Fire from the town’s Forest Fire Warden for anything larger than a campfire — except where snow covers the ground at the burn site, or the fire is at least 200 feet from anything that will carry flame.
