Engine 1 was bought in 1973 and upgraded twice; Engine 2, the tanker and the small rescue are 19 years old; Engine 3, the newest, is nine. A new engine would cost $750,000 to $800,000, with a three-year wait. Source

History

Beecher Falls's volunteers protect Canaan, in Vermont's north-east corner on the New Hampshire line. In 2025 the town hosted a firefighter appreciation day in its park with the departments of Stratford, Errol, Colebrook and Pittsburg, New Hampshire.

    Calls for the year to November, six fewer than the year before, including six structure fires. In June, on a day near 100 degrees, members and mutual aid crews fight the Ethan Allen fire and contain it, saving many jobs. Members train with United Fire Company of Manchester, New Hampshire, on breathing apparatus, search and rescue and firefighter survival.

Vermont requires a Permit to Kindle Fire from the town’s Forest Fire Warden for anything larger than a campfire — except where snow covers the ground at the burn site, or the fire is at least 200 feet from anything that will carry flame.
