Georgia's department answers fire and emergency medical calls from its station on Ethan Allen Highway. Jim Bryce, who died in 2024, donated the building and provided a crew to build it. Its trucks are replaced every 20 years, spaced five years apart, so only one is ever being financed.
The department buys its ladder truck from the St. Albans Town Fire Department. It goes into service in July and, by early 2025, has answered 80 incidents, 17 of them building fires.

Town meeting approves buying a new ladder truck for up to $1.6 million, financed over no more than five years from delivery in 2029. The chief estimated the cost at about $8 per resident a year.
The Selectboard adds $35,000 to the draft budget for extrication equipment for fire and rescue.

Vermont requires a Permit to Kindle Fire from the town’s Forest Fire Warden for anything larger than a campfire — except where snow covers the ground at the burn site, or the fire is at least 200 feet from anything that will carry flame.
