The department shares the town highway garage, using two of its five bays. Three vehicles fit in two bays, so Rescue 55 can only leave after a truck in front is moved, and the bays limit trucks to 25 feet. Engine 52, a 2005 E-One/International, is first due. Source
Newark's volunteers are unpaid, independent of the town but funded by a town appropriation and donations. They answer fire and medical calls, with Lyndon Rescue providing the ambulance.
2011
Tanker 51, a 1977 Maxim rebuilt in 1997, is donated by Georgetown, Connecticut.
2017
Rescue 55 is bought from Waterford, Vermont.
2019
The town forms a committee and hires a consultant to plan a renovated or new station.

Boundaries and water from VCGI; fire district lines are not town lines, and
village districts and contracted coverage cross them. A town line runs out into
the lake, so the shoreline here is the water drawn over the boundary, not the
boundary itself.

Burning
Vermont requires a Permit to Kindle Fire from the town’s Forest Fire Warden for anything larger than a campfire — except where snow covers the ground at the burn site, or the fire is at least 200 feet from anything that will carry flame.
