A small volunteer department working Sutton's long, steep driveways and narrow roads, which the weather keeps testing.
For the third year running, a major rain storm on 10 July damages the town's roads. The pump on Tanker 43 is rebuilt. The 1988 Engine 41 is sold and replaced by a 2001 E-One mini pumper on an F550 chassis, with a 300-gallon tank and 750 gpm pump, small enough for driveways the big engines can't reach. A few new members join.

Vermont requires a Permit to Kindle Fire from the town’s Forest Fire Warden for anything larger than a campfire — except where snow covers the ground at the burn site, or the fire is at least 200 feet from anything that will carry flame.
